WHERE TO STAY & what to visit
After a long search around the airport during June 2000 we found some great rooms, with great view for spotting. The name of the rooms is that of the owner,"Anna Bouzi". The prices are low, regarding the size and the facilities provided (TV, own bathroom, full equiped kitchen with refrigerator, iron, ceiling ventilator and more). Note that in a DB room there are two separate beds: one double and one single bed. So it ispossible for three people to be acommodated with almost the same price.
After a 10-minute walk, (and a lot of stair-climbing) you can reach the "Kanoni" location. There, there is a bus station you can use to get to the center of the town.
Suggestions for places to visit: From the old port every 2 hours there is an undersea cruise (with sea lions etc.). Best places for swimming are :Glyfada, Gialiskari, Ag. Georgios, Ag. Gordios and more...
Above the rooms is a Hotel ,and next to it is "Kanoni of Corfu". At the left view of those photos is Pontikonisi (Greek for "Mouse Island"). You can reach it with small boats departing 200m left of "Anna Bouzi" rooms. If you like, you can also have a coffee or breakfast at a selfservice snack bar (from the place those pictures taken). Note that its opening on 10 in the morning, but it is free to go there before opening timem, for pictures. In the two pictures below you can see the "Anna Bouzi" rooms' proximity to the runway.
The two pictures below shows the view from the room. Actually the right one was taken from the bed!
